If Not Now When?
I would be remiss if I did not introduce you all to my mother, Anne. She was stunning, smart, witty and a true force of nature.
She passed away a few years back after a battle with cancer but I prefer to dwell on how she lived. Those who had the marvelous opportunity to encounter her knew that she was extravagant, avante-garde and a little eccentric. Above all though, we learned that she was brave.
She introduced me to art and culture and she constantly encouraged me to be independent and bold. She had a number of sayings. The most notable being, “If not now, when?” She encouraged me to eat that piece of cake, pursue that opportunity, hug a loved one and to travel whenever possible. Clearly, she has inspired me and I feel her presence very strongly this month-the month of our launch.
After all, if not now, when?
